Lifestyle Photography – Capturing an Individual’s Lifestyle
There are many elements that make up a person’s lifestyle. The pursuit of interests, fashion choices, and social fulfillment are all parts of a person’s lifestyle. Social status includes physical appearance, respect from others, and attitude towards it. For example, a person might have furniture on his or her front lawn. Similarly, a person may be a member of a social group. If he or she is happy and successful, that person will have a positive attitude toward the status of the group.
The way of life of a person is part of that individual’s personality. Their choices are often shaped by their culture. Some people live a more urban lifestyle, while others live in the country. Regardless of their lifestyle, however, they all share certain characteristics and expectations. In fact, many of these elements are interrelated. For example, an urban metropolis resident may be more into shopping malls, while a country person might be into a posh, luxurious lifestyle.
The key to capturing an individual’s lifestyle is a blend of candid and staged shots. This style emphasizes natural poses and moments. Photographing a family during an activity, for example, can give a person the feeling of living a life that is rich in detail and character. The photographer will set up the shots, but should not interfere with their natural behaviors. They should leave a small amount of space for natural expressions, but also make sure not to over-clean the set.
