Lifestyle is a broad term that includes the pursuit of interests, fashion choices, and social fulfillment. It also includes the individual’s social status within a community, family, or culture. The concept of social status encompasses a person’s physical appearance, as well as the amount of respect they receive from others. As a result, lifestyle encompasses a person’s overall behavior and attitude toward life. Listed below are some of the most common types of lifestyles.

Traditionally, the concept of lifestyle was separate from consumer taste. The rise of social media, however, has increased the visibility of the latter. In fact, lifestyles have become a central topic of major sociopolitical discussions, and the concept of lifestyle is entwined with them.

In addition to being a symptom of poor health, lifestyle is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly those caused by physical inactivity. Lifestyle diseases share many risk factors with other chronic diseases such as smoking, physical inactivity, and unhealthy diet. They contribute to the development of many chronic diseases, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Some types of cancer are considered a part of a lifestyle. To prevent a lifetime of chronic illness, a healthy lifestyle is a must.
